ONCE IN ROYAL DAVID’S CITY/DO YOU HEAR

Once in royal Daivd’s city, Stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her baby, in a manger for his bed.
Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child.

He came down to earth from heaven, who is God and Lord of all
And his shelter was a stable, and his cradle was a stall,
With the poor, the meek and lowly, liven on earth, our Saviour holy.
Do you hear what I hear, Do you hear what I hear ?

Said the night wind to the little lamb, Do you see what I see,
Way up in the sky little lamb, Do you see what I see,
The star, the star dancing in the night,
With a tail as big as a kite, with a tail as big as a kite.

Said the King to the people everywhere, Listen to what I say,
Pray for peace people everywhere, Listen to what I say,
The child, the child sleeping in the night,
He will bring us goodness and light,
He will bring us goodness and light.
Do you hear what I hear.
