He was born down the road a few miles from here,
In a place called Bethlehem,
Laid in a manger in a stable on the edge of town,
Shepherds in the field nearby, to them and angel came,
Said “Fear not, to you this day there has been born a King”.
Now on this day, I want to say that Jesus is the King
And I was one of those Shepherd boys, who heard the angels sing.
When they nailed him to the cross, his only crown was thorns,
But this is why He came to the World,
Why Jesus Christ was born,
We were like sheep without a shepherd, Lost and gone astray,
So He came to earth that Christmas night to light our darkened way.
Now on this day, I want to say that Jesus is the King
And I was one of those Shepherd boys, who heard the angels sing.
